Community Engagement & Development Worker (Race & Health Service)

Part Time- 21 hours per week

Until the 31st March 2018 with the possibility of extension subject to funding

Scale 5 NJC SP 22 – Scale 6 SP 28 (£20,661 - £24,964 per annum)

The role of community Engagement and Development Worker holds responsibility for establishing, developing and delivering targeted community engagement initiatives and health promotion interventions locally as part of a team. This role will be based within BHA’s Race & Health Service in Manchester.

The successful applicant will work alongside communities, individuals, statutory and non-statutory organisations, community groups, religious leaders and the business sector to ensure equity in access, treatment and involvement of BME communities.  The role will involve conducting desk based research on health, assisting in health promotion activities with a range of agencies and supporting development of health policy.

The post holder should have a good understanding of community engagement, conducting focus groups and delivering health education sessions.
